Nora Ephron & a Baking Bible: Celebrating SWAN Day 2017

To celebrate the 10th Annual International SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day on Saturday, March 25, 2017, the FF2 Media team is highlighting their favorite female artists. The holiday, also observed throughout the months of March and April, highlights the creative feats of female artists and their audiences.

Senior Contributor Lesley Coffin:

To celebrating SWAN Day, I’ll get motivated and use social media for good by taking a look at the accounts of some impressive women in arts and business (like Dany Garcia, currently my favorite Twitter mentor).

Then I’ll indulge in some comfort food by baking an amazing treat to share with friends. I highly recommend breads or biscuits from Mary Berry’s Baking Bible or if you’re like me, recipes from the cookbook Gluten Free Girl by Shauna James Ahern (she’s also writes a great narrative story).

And share a favorite underrated movie like The Trouble with Angels (directed by Ida Lupino), Crossing Delancey (by Joan Micklin Silver) or This Is My Life, Nora Ephron’s first film all about mothers and daughters. And I’ll cap off a day well spent with some pajama me-time with Rosamunde Pilcher’s novel “The Shell Seekers.”

We encourage you to celebrate the female artists that have impacted your own life and connect with, appreciate and honor their creative endeavors. To learn more about how you can participate in SWAN Day, visit: https://www.womenarts.org/swan/swan2/participate/
