Richard Bayard Miller traveled the world at an early age, moving around often for his father’s position as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. He found his love for film in the early 1970s while attending Oberlin College in Ohio (note the 1974 release of The Godfather Part II).
Rich spent the next few years moving back and forth between Oberlin, the Marine Corps Reserve and Rio de Janeiro (the place of his parent’s posting at the time).
He attended the University of Chicago for graduate school where he completed his PhD in Philosophy and later made a career shift to Accounting.
It was Rich’s second year in the Philosophy Department at the University of Chicago that he meet Jan Lisa Huttner in a genuine cinematic “meet cute.” By 1982, Rich and Jan were married and living in Chicago, a city they called home for the next 30 years.
Throughout his time at the University of Chicago hospitals, Rich completed his MBA and received a CPA while steadily moving up the corporate ladder. Joining the organization as a staff analyst, he continued to hold positions of assistant manager for cost reimbursement, assistant controller, director of internal audit, controller, executive director of finance and vice president of finance.
In the early 2000s, Rich and Jan created Films for Two, originally intended as a movie review website for busy couples. Now FF2 Media, the online database continues to expand in size and scope, exponentially growing its audience worldwide.
Rich and Jan made the big move to Brooklyn, New York in 2012, where he currently works as CFO of University Hospitals Brooklyn and serves as Publisher for FF2 Media.
