AMPAS ’16: Deniz Gamze Erguven

Deniz Gamze Ergüven grew up in France and attended school at La Fémis. In 2011, she attended the Cannes Film Festivals Atelier where she met fellow director Alice Winocour. The two began their collaboration on her first feature film, Mustang.

Mustang premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Europa Cinemas Label Award and later played in the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.read more.
