Ali Suliman is superb as “Khaled,” a painter & art teacher who is arrested & interrogated by “Eyal” (Guy Elhanan).
To her credit, writer/director Jessica Habie is more interested in the interior truth of these two existential roles: the occupied & the occupier. Forced into these roles, everyone involved suffers & this is something no one should dispute.
Mars at Sunrise provides no “answers,” & Habie certainly offers no political “solutions.” But showing how our roles imprison us is an essential step forward. (JLH: 3.5/5)
